Solar energy is considered to be any source of light energy generated by the sun, which will later be used by human: for heating water, electric or mechanical energy.
Sunlight is today one of the best alternatives for energy capture. Besides being an energy considered clean, it is renewable, because during its capture there is no emission of polluting gases.
The greatest benefit from this source of energy, without a doubt, is the environment.
If one of the advantages of this energy source is not to emit gaseous pollutants, one of the disadvantages is the amount that should be disbursed for installation. Although its maintenance is cheap, the solar panels are a bit expensive.
The cost of the system will depend on the size of your home and the installation complexity. Knowing that a house that manages to generate its own energy, is worth more than the one that can not.
Its installation is very easy and simple. The energy collectors are normally positioned on the roof. The reservoirs and the water tank should be installed just below it, if possible. Can be installed in homes, businesses or industries.
Advantages:
- There is no pollution during its use;
- Reservoirs need minimal overhaul;
- As solar panels become more powerful in the market, their cost has been declining;
- This system is great in remote places or difficult to access public energy.
Disadvantages:
- The investment price of this system is somewhat high;
- Its form of storage is little enough compared to other energy systems, such as coal and gas for example;
- There may be variation in quantity produced. In some places, such as Finland and southern Chile, where in the winter months there is a sudden drop in daily availability of the sun.
