THE ROLE OF COLORS – PART 1

It is not from today that we all know the meaning of colors in interior architecture. They are not only decorative elements but architectural elements. The colors used in architecture can enrich our sensory and emotional senses.

Primary colors: Red, blue and yellow are considered primary colors. This means that these colors are pure, and can not be decomposed. They exist without mixing other colors. When primary colors are mixed, they will rise to new colors, which are called secondary colors, such as orange, purple and green.

RED

The first color that the man baptized was the red, being the oldest denomination chromatic of the world.

If used excessively, it can cause excitement and nervousness. When used moderately, red color stimulates the nervous system, blood circulation, gives energy to the body and elevates self-esteem.

Using this color in the living room and/or the kitchen stimulates the appetite and leaves the environment more welcoming.

YELLOW

This color means optimism, warmth, relaxation, optimism and joy. Still, it is a primary color, symbolizing the sun, summer, and happiness. Because it is the sun color, yellow brings life and brightness to the environment. If used too much, it can lead to distraction and anxiety.

Yellow is an inspiring color that awakens our creativity, stimulating our reasoning and communication. If used in living rooms, for example, this color is very welcome, contributing with sensorial and emotional experiences  between friends and family.
