MONTESSORI ROOM FOR KIDS

Montessorian room:

This proposal, created by Italian physician and educator in the century. XX, Maria Montessori, emphasizes the method of self-education.

The infant and child room should be designed and structured to meet the needs of kids, and not adults, stimulating creativity and autonomy, circulating freely in the environment, having everything they need at your fingertips.

  • The bed should be low, or the mattress can be placed on the floor so that the child has more independence and autonomy to lie down and get up. To avoid the risk of rolling and falling out of bed, cushions and pillows can be used as barriers.

  • Let the children put it away their own toys with the help of their parents. They should know where to find them, and all toys must be accessible at their fingertips.

  • Paintings, photos, books, should be arranged in a way they are on the child height, so that they are within their reach and small look. Do not use glass in pictures and photos, but, acrylics that does not bring risks to the kids.

  • The decor should be minimal, which means few toys. Working the rotation scheme of these every 15 days for a child to develop concentration and explore each object calmly.

  • Mirrors are often used in these environments, so that babies and kids can get to know better theirselves. It is quite important that acrylic and is securely in the wall to offer no risk.

  • Colorful and comfortable mats are also a good alternative, so the babies can crawl around without being injured, in addition to being a great element of sensory experiences.

  • Horizontal bars on the wall would help the kid stand up by themselves until they start walking.

  • Always protect the wall plugs.

  • Their clothes should also be reachable by their fingertips, so that, in their time, can dress by themselves.
