The costs of remodeling can be a little scared for those seeking this service for the first-timers. It’s very easy to fall in love with that kitchen, or that room  you have seen on the magazine cover, don’t you agree? Very often people have big dreams that are, unfortunately, out of their budget. They all seem to like the most expensive.

Your teacher, your father or even your grandfather may have told you how important it is not to extrapolate your budget. According to the survey, more than a third of those who decided to make remodeling, started with no budget at all. Surprisingly, they did not pay much for it. Those that started without a budget spent an average of USD 8,000 less than those who set a maximum spend. It could be that they were doing DIY projects, or they took on projects at a lower cost. Those who had established a budget spent on average twice as much as they did not have one. And incredibly only a tiny bit, it was within your expenses.

Why do people go over their budget, and spend more than they expected?

Very simple! Because they have nice taste. Almost half of the respondents assumed to buy materials and products more expensive than planned, while a third of them, decided to make changes in scope of their project.
