CONTAINERS TURN INTO HOUSES

With a sustainable appeal and attractive prices, architects have been reusing containers and transforming them into housing. If you see a container just being a steel box used for cargo transportation, let us show you how much of this material can be beautiful and efficient for a home.

Often, these houses are seen as popular, but quite the contrary, they can be turned into mansions.

These homes come at an attractive price for producing less trash and less rubble than conventional buildings. Investors that worry about the sustainability issue are very interested in this new technology, which has become a considered modern housing alternative.
Besides being possible to design entire houses, it can also be an option if you are looking to add another room to your residence: a gym, game room or a kitchen and barbecue in the outdoor area for example.

The measurements of the containers used do not vary much. Their height varies from 102in to 114in. The most common sizes are two:

  • 312 sq ft: 472 inches long by 96 inches wide;
  • 215 sq ft: 236 inches long by 135 inches wide.

To design larger houses than these, the containers can be grouped together. They can be side by side, one on top of the other, spaced apart, forming a garden between them.

The strength and durability of the container is optimal. In ships, they are usually stacked up to 6 containers one on top of another, supporting up to 66 thousand pounds.

Containers should receive acoustic and thermal insulation. Rock wool, pet wool, drywall. Floor coverings can be the same as those used in conventional constructions: wood, tiles or laminates.

In addition to the competitive price, the execution time of the construction is greatly reduced. On average, a house of 2.150sq ft it is ready in 3 months, and a house of 1.076 sq ft, from 45 to 60 days.

The housing in containers has a great advantage: its mobility. Can be moved to other land very easily.

Our mission is to provide the best service experience.
