(2/2) MICRO-HOTELS AROUND THE WORLD!

Many tourist cities, such as New York, Paris or London, have their hotel rooms very expensive. The hostels and Airbnb – which is a rental service of rooms and real estate for short periods – has grown a lot. But along with this new concept, micro-hotels were also available in this tourist market. Many investors have already announced new hotel constructions with mini-rooms.

Hotel Arlo Hudson, located on the island of Manhattan in New York, is considered a 4-star micro-hotel. Two buildings offer five hundred and seventy-five apartments, each with fifteen square meters. There are several different layouts: bunk beds, twin size beds, and queen size beds. This last room – queen size beds –  is embedded in a frame on the wall on both sides of the bedroom and balcony.

Micro-hotels in Japan are no longer seen as something different. Today, there are approximately 1,600 establishments like this one in the country. The capsules are about one meter wide, stand side by side without distinction of sex.

Once checked in, the guest is invited to take off his shoe and change his clothes into standard pajamas, available in the hotel. It should also be sanitized in shared bathrooms. In the capsules, there are no doors to close. Only curtains caught by hooks.
